WHY SECURITY SCREENS?
A security screen looks like a regular screen but is highly resistant to intrusion! Crimsafe Security Screens featured by Crimeguard turn your home’s entrances into security windows and doors, respectively. This means that once the security screens are installed, your home will be protected against intruders, burglary and fire, meeting all your window and door security needs. Security screens are the most secure and cost effective solution. An additional benefit to the protection of the security screens is the affect they will have your energy bill. Security windows and doors are not only repellants of outside danger but of excess heat retention as well, cooling your home therefore reducing your air conditioning use. Crimsafe Security Screens by Crimeguard also act like a barrier for insects, as well as filtering dust, dirt and pollen.
Our Security Mesh Is 'Screw-Clamped' So It Can't Be Kicked Out
Look at the picture below and you can see how the Crimsafe mesh is sandwiched between two serrated pieces of aluminium that clamp the mesh tight. One is an aluminium strip with a hook and the other is the frame that the strip hooks into. But then, all three are screwed together with stainless steel tamper-resistant screws and the different components are separated by a Santoprene (rubber) bead to eliminate electrolysis that could lead to corrosion.
This combination mechanically fastens the mesh to the frame and creates a barrier that can't be kicked in - this is Crimsafe's unique screw-clamp technology. Only Crimsafe® features screws driven through both the clamp and the mesh and right into the frame on the other side, providing incredible strength.
Our Security Mesh
Crimsafe's stainless steel security screen is 0.9mm /.035" thick and precisely woven, so every strand backs up the others.
Research shows that the most common method of entry through security screens is a well-placed series of kicks that bust the screen apart. That won't work with Crimsafe. You can kick at Crimsafe's Tensile Tuff screen repeatedly, and you may injure yourself trying to break through it.
It's also incredibly difficult to cut Crimsafe screens. You can take a machete and hack away at our mesh and you'll have a hard time getting anywhere. You might put a few holes in it but you won't be able to fit through them. That's because Crimsafe's security screen has such strong ‘shear' resistance.
The Category 3 Cyclone Missile and Ballistic Test
This Industry Standard test simulates one of the conditions of a Category 3 Cyclone - flying debris.
This test is based on the same principle as the Australian Standard Dynamic Impact test, only it's a lot more severe.
A 4 kilogram (approx 9 pound) block of hardwood is fired as a missile into the Crimsafe® test panel. At impact it is moving at 54 kilometres (33 miles) per hour (16.4 yards per second). To pass the test, the deflection of the panel must not come within a prescribed distance to the glass window panel behind it.
Every product in the Crimsafe® range passes this test because at impact the hooking feature of the unique screw-clamp technology (which runs along every edge of the product) levers into the aluminium frame and creates what's called a "single frame member". The effect is that the load is spread right around the perimeter of the product, rather than allowing the force to be concentrated at the point of impact. The mechanical fastening of the clamp to the mesh also gives it huge strength and resists the tendency of the mesh to be pulled out of the frame. These features permit Crimsafe® to withstand enormous force.
